ITV Emmerdale favourite says 'I'll miss this' as they share sudden plans to leave village

Send Push

Emmerdale's Dingle family were surprised to hear of one family member's sudden plans to leave the village on Thursday.

During the latest episode, Ruby Fox-Milligan found herself caught up in another feud as she came to blows with sister-in-law Moira Dingle after the latter splashed her in her car. Things got so tense between the two they even had a petty car standoff in the road, which almost prevented Will Taylor from getting to the hospital to see his poorly grandson Evan.

Later, at The Woolpack, Cain Dingle and Moira had a drink, where Caleb Milligan and Ruby were also in the pub. It wasn't long until Caleb teased brother Cain to which Chas Dingle said of her siblings: "Aw, you know what? I'm going to miss this, not a lot, but a little!"

The foursome were left stunned at Chas' comment as Caleb asked: "What, you going somewhere?" to which Chas admitted: "Yeah, I'm thinking of going to see Debbie for a bit in Scotland" with a confused Moira and Cain replying: "Since when?"

Explaining her plans, Chas said: "Well, since I spoke to her earlier, it was her idea if I'm honest! I really need this", Chas added that her daughter Eve was going to be staying with her dad Paddy Dingle. Chas then revealed she was planning to leave the next day in a sudden exit.

However, Chas' plans were almost in jeopardy later as Ruby and Moira came to blows once again with Chas saying she couldn't leave for Scotland in the morning if her family were arguing. The two women were then forced to apologise and make a truce but they both secretly agreed they were still feuding. It remains to be seen if Chas does leave for Scotland and how long she will be gone.

It comes as Chas has had a very stressful few weeks after undergoing a double mastectomy following a diagnosis of triple-negative breast cancer. Her friend and one-time lover, Dr Liam Cavanagh, first spotted a lump on her right breast in January and urged her to get it checked. Chas has always been aware of the risk of the disease as her mum, Faith, passed away from breast cancer in 2022.

However, despite Chas announcing on Thursday's show she's leaving the village to go to Scotland "for a bit", actress Lucy Pargeter recently responded to fears she's exiting the ITV soap. Talking about her soap future earlier this year, Lucy, 47, insisted she never wants to leave Emmerdale and would have to be "dragged kicking and screaming" by bosses if they ever wanted her to depart the role.

"I don’t think I will ever make the decision to leave myself – they’ll have to write me out, but even they they’d have to drag me out kicking and screaming! I’ve got a job that I love and I’ll stay as long as they’ll have me," she told MyWeekly magazine.

Emmerdale airs every week night at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. *Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook ,and Threads.
