India bounced back in the five-match series against Australia, winning the third T20I by five wickets to draw level at 1-1. Suryakumar Yadav finally won the toss and opted to bowl first. Arshdeep Singh was finally given a game and he made instant impact, picking up the wicket of Travis Head in the first over. In his second over, the left-arm seamer struck once again, dismissing Josh Inglis.
Tim David played a gem of an innings, even though Mitchell Marsh struggled at the other end. Varun Chakaravarthy dismissed Marsh and Mitchell Owen in consecutive deliveries in the ninth over. David smashed 74 off 38 balls before being dismissed by Shivam Dube.
After David departed, Marcus Stoinis played a magnificent knock, slamming 64 off 39 deliveries. He forged 64-run partnership with Matthew Short, taking the hosts past the 180-run mark. Short finished unbeaten 26 off 15 balls after Arshdeep got the wicket of Stoinis in the last over. The Aussies finished on 186/6 in their 20 overs.
In reply, Abhishek Sharma once again got off to a flyer, while Shubman Gill gave himself some time to get set at the crease. Both the batters got starts but Nathan Ellis sent them packing inside the powerplay.
Suryakumar scored a breathtaking 24 off 11 balls before Marcus Stoinis dismissed him. Tilak Varma and Axar Patel stitched a crucial 35-run partnership off 22 balls to keep the required run rate in control. After Ellis struck once again to dismiss Axar for a 12-ball 17, it was time for the Washington Sundar show.

The Tamil Nadu all-rounder, playing his first game of the series, smashed an unbeaten 49 off 23 balls, even as Tilak got dismissed for 29. Jitesh Sharma also smashed 22 not out off 13 balls as India romped home in 18.3 overs, with five wickets to spare.
