Varanasi: The BJP's Kashi unit has intensified its drive to mobilise party workers for their participation in the proposed public meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Mehdiganj here on Friday.
Talking to reporters on Wednesday, BJP regional President Dilip Patel said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a large public gathering at Mehndiganj in Sevapuri assembly area during his visit to the city on Friday. On this occasion, the PM will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 44 projects worth Rs 3,884.18 crores, including the inauguration of 19 projects worth Rs 1,629.13 crores and the foundation stone laying for 25 projects worth Rs 2,255.05 crores.
He said that this is Prime Minister Modi's 50th visit to Kashi, highlighting his connection with his parliamentary constituency and the people of Kashi. The BJP workers and general public will arrive at the rally venue in a procession. As many as 1,000 small and large hoardings are being put up across the district and city. Key intersections and routes are being decorated with party flags and lights. A special cleanliness drive is also being conducted by public representatives, BJP office-bearers, and workers. He said that the PM will transfer a bonus of Rs106 crores to the farmers associated with Banas (Amul) from the rally site.
