Chelsea's young shot-stopper, Filip Jorgensen, was forced off the pitch during Denmark under-21s' match against Iceland due to an injury scare.

The 22-year-old, who made a $26 million switch from Villarreal to in July, had to be replaced at half-time following a collision with a team-mate during the first half of the 2-0 victory.

Despite not having made his debut for Enzo Maresca's side yet, Jorgensen has seen action in the Conference League and Carabao Cup.

The severity of his injury is still unclear as he heads back to West London to rejoin his Chelsea colleagues ahead of Sunday's Premier League showdown with Liverpool.

With Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella already ruled out due to suspension for the Anfield trip, it's uncertain if Jorgensen will join them on the bench. Reece James is also still out of action.

Since his move from Spain, Jorgensen has only donned the Chelsea jersey four times, three of which were in the UEFA Conference League. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is expected to provide an update on Jorgensen's condition, along with the rest of his squad, later this week, typically addressing the media on Fridays, reports .
