David Beckham has given himself an early 50th birthday pressie - a new greenhouse. The former footballer is embracing the slower pace of like as he approaches the milestone birthday, indulging in his current passion, his garden.
Green-fingered , who turns 50 next month, has built a new structure on his £12million Cotswolds estate, new pictures show. He is also constructing an adjacent garden store room at the country pile. It’ll mean that David will be able to branch out into growing tomatoes and tropical fruits, usually suited for warmer climes. Ex-England and ace Becks has been keeping followers up to date with his outdoor pursuits, with videos of him tending to his chickens and vegetable patch.

The dad-of-four last year admitted he’d been getting his hands dirty in the garden - nicknaming himself ‘Titchmarsh’, after much-loved TV horticulturist .
He posted a clip of him walking around his garden, captioning it: “My content used to be motorbikes & camping... now it's kale, honey and flowers for the house. My kale is doing well. I can hear my east end mates going 'He has changed’."
Wife agreed, posting: "Who is this man?!? Give me my husband back."
It’s not the first greenhouse to the Great Tew home, which already boasts an expensive Alitex greenhouse and a kitchen garden.

In previous videos, he's shown off his red cabbages, potatoes, spring onions, kale, plum trees, berries and herbs in his vegetable patch. Keen cook David even makes his own crisps.
Embracing the country life in his tweed shirt, flat cap and wellies, he proudly showed off his crop of marrows and courgettes as he gave followers a tour of the vegetable plots Cheeky Becks, 49, captioned a photo of a courgette: "Bend it like Beckham”. He held up a marrow, promising to turn it into a pot of soup for wife Victoria, 50. In another, he promised his other half “spring onions for lunch and dinner for the next few weeks”
Calling upon the expertise of Alan Titchmarsh, Becks asked him: “How am I doing?” before telling followers he’d been getting tips from the telly star.
The couple bought their sprawling farmhouse in 2016 which boasts a sauna, a plunge pool, a walled garden, a football pitch, gym, a swimming pool, £50,000 BBQ tent and a man-made lake that cost £200,000 to build.
David turns 50 on May 2 but his birthday celebrations have already kicked off, with a celeb-packed party in Miami at the weekend. His Inter Miami CF captain and striker Luis Suarez joined in the fun, along with basketball royalty Shaquille O'Neal and hero Tom Brady.

David and Victoria were joined by their children - Harper, 13, Cruz, 20, and Romeo, 22, and their girlfriends Jackie Apostel, 29, and Kim Turnbull, 23. Brooklyn, 26, and wife, Nicola, 30, were absent.
