Jurgen Klopp has claimed he is 'basically an advisor' .
The German has agreed to become , where he will oversee its international network of football clubs and advise them on playing philosophy, transfer strategy and coaching development.
That will see him work with the likes of Austrian side RB Salzburg, giants New York Red Bulls, and Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, which , in particular, and led to .
But the 57-year-old has now fully opened up on why he took the role, explaining that it was ultimately too good of an opportunity to turn down.
Speaking on , a podcast hosted by former Germany midfielder Toni Kroos and his brother, Felix, Klopp said: “Basically, I’m an advisor. Hopefully I can bring calm in different ways and, in other situations, assess things correctly and help the coaches.
"But I just want to support, not interfere, because I know how disruptive that is. Instead, I want to pass on my experience and work in the world that I know best.”
The former manager added: “It was always clear, well, clear to me, that I wouldn’t do nothing. And then the Red Bull story came up. And it was an outstanding (option), and I have to be honest about that."
In response to all the backlash that came his way, Klopp insisted that he 'loves' all his former clubs, yet understands the decision was always going to upset the fans of some.
“I didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes, absolutely not," he explained. "And I love all of my former clubs. But I don’t really know what I could have done to make everyone happy.”

Klopp has also enrolled himself in another job since agreeing to work with Red Bull, .
The brand, which employs 50,000 people, announced that the former Liverpool manager will help "drive team spirit" and "support their marketing activities across eleven countries".
The specifics of Klopp's role with the company remain a mystery, but it's clear that his involvement is not expected to clash with his responsibilities at Red Bull.
