On a thrilling instalment of BBC's The One Show, Roman Kemp and Alex Jones dropped a major career announcement about one of their co-stars.
Throughout their half-hour segment, the pair covered a range of topics before wrapping up with some exciting Children In Need updates. Alex sparked the anticipation, remarking: "Now there's just over a month to go until we'll all be getting ready to stick on our Pudsey ears and help raise an incredible amount of money for this year's Children In Need appeal show on the 15th of November."
Roman then delivered the big reveal, hinting: "Yeah, and we can reveal that the presenter helping host the big night for the very first time is here right now. It's Vernon Kay! "
Vernon Kay made a suave entrance, joining Aiden Turner and Bella Maclean from Rivals on the set. Roman took the opportunity to congratulate Vernon, commenting: "Congratulations, mate, taking on hosting duties on the night. You're one of six presenters on the big night," reports Wales Online.
He also probed Vernon about his new role: "I guess the big question is, what made you want to take on hosting duties?"
Vernon, known for his stint on , revealed a heartfelt motive for his decision, citing his previous charity run for Children In Need as a source of inspiration to do more.
"It really plucked at my own personal heartstrings as you really see how important Children In Need is to so many people," he mused.
BBC's beloved charity Children In Need has been warming hearts for an amazing 44 years, launching with the iconic trio Terry Wogan, Sue Lawley, and Esther Rantzen at the helm.
The upcoming show boasts a star-studded line-up of six fabulous hosts: Chris Ramsey, Ade Adepitan, Mel Giedroyc, , Lenny Rush, and Vernon Kay.
Excited to join the presenting team, actor Lenny Rush shared: "It's such an honour to be part of such a special production which helps raise money for both children and young people in the UK facing disadvantages."
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
