Tyrrell Hatton fell agonisingly short of winning his second title in two starts, after the star finished second at the
- who last month - was looking to make it back-to-back wins at Yas Links, but failed to chase down eventual champion Paul Waring. Following a course record, 11-under-par 61 in round two, Waring led throughout the weekend, but was almost pipped by his fellow Englishman.
Hatton started the day five shots behind the overnight leader, but found his form in the Middle East in Sunday's final round, shooting his second eight-under 64 of the week, having started with one on Thursday.

Playing ahead of Waring, the Legion XIII member made back-to-back birdies at the 17th and 18th to ensure he was the clubhouse leader at 22-under-par. With Waring a shot back and chasing only the second DP World Tour victory of his career, the 39-year-old matched Hatton's late flurry.
Like the LIV golfer, Waring too birdied his final two holes - including a lengthy putt at the par-three 17th - to ensure he leap frogged Hatton into top spot, taking home the £1.2 million prize. Despite the near-miss, it was yet another impressive showing from Hatton, with his season drawing to a close.
