India-Pakistan War: Delhi Airport issued an advisory for its passengers saying that operations at IGI Airport remain normal. Delhi Airport said that some flights have been affected due to changing airspace conditions and tight security. In such a situation, passengers are being advised to check the airline's website to know the exact status of their flight before leaving home.
Air India issued an advisory.
Air India issued an important advisory for its passengers saying that, given the order issued by DGCA, passengers should reach the airport at least 3 hours before their flight, so that they do not face any problem in check-in and boarding. Air India said that the check-in gate closes 75 minutes before departure.
Along with Air India, Indigo, SpiceJet, and Akasa Air have also issued similar advisories for their passengers.
India foils Pak attack.
The advice comes after Pakistan carried out air strikes targeting several military stations in Jammu and near the western border, which were successfully foiled by India's air defence systems. The attempted attack with drones and missiles triggered blackouts and sirens in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan.
430 flights cancelled
Authorities urged residents to stay indoors and remain vigilant as emergency protocols were activated. India has retaliated in the wake of the attacks. Earlier in the day, domestic airlines cancelled around 430 flights on Thursday, which is about three per cent of the total scheduled flights in the country, as 27 airports will remain closed till May 10.
These 27 airports were closed.
The affected airports include Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, Halwara, Pathankot, Bhuntar, Shimla, Gaggal, Dharamshala, Kishangarh, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Mundra, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Kandla, Keshod, Bhuj, Gwalior, and Hindon. Now, some more airports have been added to the list due to the increasing tension. On Wednesday, more than 300 flights were cancelled and operations were suspended at 21 airports in northern and western India.
