WhatsApp has released a new and very useful feature, 'Remind Me', for its Android users for testing. With the help of this feature, users can now set a reminder to remind them of a read message later. Earlier, WhatsApp used to give reminder notifications only for unread messages, but now this feature will also work on previously read messages. This feature is currently available as a test in the latest version (v2.25.21.14) of WhatsApp Beta.
How does the 'Remind Me' feature work?
First update WhatsApp Beta for Android (version 2.25.21.14 or above).
Long-press on the message you want to remember later.
Tap on the three dots (⋮) given in the top right corner of the screen.
Now tap on the 'Remind Me' option.
Options for setting a reminder
When you click on ‘Remind Me’, a pop-up card will open, which will give the following four options:
In 2 hours
In 8 hours
In 24 hours
Custom (set custom date and time)
In the custom option, you can set a reminder according to any date and time.
What will happen after setting a reminder?
A small bell icon will appear on the message for which you have set a reminder. This indicates that the reminder is on for that message. When the time for the reminder comes, you will get a notification from WhatsApp. That notification will also include the full content of the message, so that you can directly access that message.
