YouTube New Rule: YouTube is now going to make a big change in its monetization policy, which will crack down on those creators who are repeatedly creating the same or machine-like content. This change will come into effect from July 15, and its purpose is to identify such videos which are not original and are made only to get views.
Original content has to be promoted
The Google-owned platform shared information on a support page and said that now the process of identifying and evaluating "mass-produced" and "repetitive" content under the YouTube Partner Programme (YPP) will be made even more stringent. The company says that YouTube has always promoted original and authentic content, and this policy is another step in that direction.
What are YouTube's new terms?
It is already clear in YouTube's monetization policy that the content of any creator who is earning money from YouTube should be original. The new policy emphasizes two things:
Originality of content: Someone else's content cannot be used without major changes. Even if it is taken, it is necessary to modify it to such an extent that it looks new and is your own.
Prohibition of repetitive content: Videos made in the same templates, repeated again and again and made only for the purpose of getting views will now be suspicious in the eyes of YouTube. This includes low-effort content, clickbait thumbnails, and videos made without any sense of education or entertainment.
Will AI content also come on the radar?
Although YouTube did not mention it directly, but looking at the current trends, it is believed that such AI generated videos in which voice or reaction has been added without human contribution, can also come under the purview of this new strictness.
Quality content will now be more important to earn money
Under YouTube's policy, there are already some minimum conditions for monetization such as there should be at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million valid Shorts views in the last 90 days. Now even after fulfilling these conditions, the quality and originality of the content will decide whether the creator will get the earnings or not.
This move of YouTube is a warning to all those who were expecting to earn more with less effort. Now only hard work, creativity and original content will be able to survive on this platform.
