Triumph Speed T4: All you need to know
The Speed T4 is designed specifically for India, sharing its platform with the Speed 400 but with certain cost-effective modifications to keep the pricing competitive. These changes include a shift from the more premium USD fork on the Speed 400 to a conventional telescopic fork for the T4. It also comes equipped with bias-ply tyres instead of the radial ones found on its sibling.
Powering the Speed T4 is a 398cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 30.6 bhp and 36 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. While it shares its engine setup with the Speed 400, the T4's output is slightly restricted. In terms of design, the motorcycle sports a single-piece seat and a semi-digital instrument cluster.
Braking duties are handled by a 300 mm disc at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear, complemented by dual-channel ABS. Even with the recent price hike, the Speed T4 remains a very competitively priced mid-capacity option for buyers and also the British manufacturer’s most affordable model in the country.
