New Delhi [India], May 5 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party's National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress, claiming that the party leaders are working "against the country with a toolkit."
"Congress' character is really worrisome, shameful, unreasonable, especially at a time when tensions are high in India. Whether it is Siddaramaiah thinking, Tariq Karra or Charanjeet Singh Channi and now Ajay Rai, continuously Congress leaders are doing work against the country with a toolkit," Chugh told ANI in Delhi.
The BJP leader's comments come as Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai got into a controversy for criticising the Central government for their "big talk and no action," over the Pahalgam attack, as the government has brought Rafale fighter jets but are keeping them idle with nimbu mirchi (lemon and chilli) hanging from them.
Chugh further claimed that Pakistan's army is planning a conspiracy to break the morale of Indian soldiers, and called it "unfortunate" that Congress leaders have made fun of the equipment which Armed Forces personnel are asking for.
"Pakistan's army is plotting a deep conspiracy to break the morale of India's brave army and security forces by speaking the language of Pakistan media in ISI. It is unfortunate that the Congress party is making jokes about the weapons that the army people ask for, which are deployed for the security of our country. It is unfortunate that you are committing a crime by playing in the hands of Pakistan," Chugh said.
Earlier today, Janata Dal (United) leader K C Tyagi also called the UP Congress president's statement as objectionable, taking a jibe at the Congress for supporting the army in the all party meeting.
Tyagi told ANI, "Ajay Rai's statement is objectionable. It is against the unity of the nation and also against the bravery and might of the Army. In the All Party meeting, all political parties, including Congress, showed confidence in the army in a unified manner." (ANI)
