Did not celebrate Diwali for 4 years- Deepika ChikhaliaDeepika Chikhalia, who played the role of Sita in Ramayana, told in an interview that the shooting of Ramayana serial was done in Umargaon near Maharashtra border. This village was very far from the homes of the star cast and crew members of the serial, so they could not go home frequently. Everyone lived together in this village. Deepika told that the shooting of Ramayana lasted for about 4 years and during this time she got only 3-4 holidays. The situation was such that during the shooting of the serial, she could not even celebrate Diwali at her home for 4 years. She told that the shooting schedule was so tight that it was difficult to go home. Therefore, everyone used to celebrate Diwali by lighting diyas on the set itself.
Diwali sequence was shot for RamayanaDuring the interview, Deepika Chikhalia also revealed how the Diwali sequence was shot in the Ramayana serial. She told that the Diwali sequence in the serial was shot in about 7 days. During these 7 days, the actors and crew of the serial used to light diyas together by chanting the name of Ram. Deepika told that the set of Ayodhya was prepared in Umargaon itself to shoot the Diwali sequence. Every day the set was decorated as per Diwali.
