RJD leader and INDIA bloc’s chief ministerial face Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday made several promises during a rally in Patna ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
Bihar Elections 2025: Farmers to Get Bonus Over MSP, Says Tejashwi Yadav
Tejashwi announced that if the INDIA bloc comes to power in Bihar, farmers will receive an additional Rs 300 per quintal for paddy and Rs 400 per quintal for wheat as a bonus over the existing Minimum Support Price (MSP).
He said, “Whether it is paddy or wheat, even today under the current government, farmers are not getting the MSP properly. The middlemen are the ones who benefit. When our government comes to power, we will ensure farmers get their due.”

Bihar Elections 2025: Assistance for Women Under ‘Mai Bahin Maan Yojana’
Tejashwi also promised to transfer Rs 30,000 as financial assistance to women under the Mai Bahin Maan Yojana on Makar Sankranti. He said the initiative aims to provide direct economic support to women in Bihar.
If the INDIA bloc forms the government, Tejashwi said the heads of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and Vyapar Mandals (trade associations) would be given the status of people’s representatives.

Tejashwi Yadav Attacks BJP, Accuses It of ‘Empty Promises’
Taking a dig at the BJP, Tejashwi said, “The BJP hasn't done anything in Bihar, nor do they want anyone else to do. They only make empty promises.”
Expressing confidence in his party’s chances, Tejashwi said, “Hum log jeet rahe hain, Bihar ki janta jita rahi hai. We will take the oath on 18th November.”
He added that the INDIA bloc’s focus will be on jobs, farmers’ welfare, and women’s empowerment if voted to power.
The 243-member Bihar Assembly will go to polls in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with results set to be announced on November 14.
