Mumbai: Turkey helped Pakistan in its recent attacks on India by supplying them a huge number of drones that may come to haunt Turkish business in India. The Shiv Sena has now claimed that they will not allow any Turkish companies to do business in Mumbai.
On Monday, Murji Patel, a Shiv Sena leader, led a delegation of Shiv Sena workers to meet the Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) and asked them to cancel the contract for ground handling given to a Turkish company for the Mumbai airport.
"Turkey has helped Pakistan by giving them drones that attacked India. We will not allow any Turkish company to do business in Mumbai. We have told the CEO of MIAL that they should cancel the agreement with the Turkish company. They have assured us that they would do this within ten days," said Murji Patel.
He said, "70% of the ground-handling in the Mumbai airport is being done by the Turkish company CelebiNAS Airport Services India. We have told MIAL that we will not allow them (Turkish company) to earn money from India and then use the money to help Pakistan. We have given them time of ten days." Shiv Sena has an airport union at the Mumbai airport.
