Miscarriage due to unhealthy sperm: The world's first sperm race was held in Los Angeles, America. The purpose of this sperm racing was to create awareness about the increasing infertility in men. In our society, women are often taunted for not becoming mothers, but men also have a contribution to this. If the man's sperm is not healthy, then the woman may have to face a miscarriage.

Defects in the fetus due to unhealthy sperm
Dr. Tripti Raheja, Chief Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at CK Birla Hospital, Delhi, says that when a woman conceives, 50% of the genes in the fetus growing in the womb come from the man and 50% from the woman. If the sperm is unhealthy, the child may have genetic abnormalities. Due to genetic abnormalities, 90% of miscarriages occur in the first 3 months of pregnancy. However, the highest risk of this occurs in the first month of conception.
Lifestyle has an effect.
Nowadays, the biggest reason for infertility in men is their unhealthy lifestyle. Men who eat junk food, drink alcohol, or smoke, their sperm quality starts deteriorating. Lack of sleep is also a reason behind this. In men who sleep less or suffer from insomnia, the stress hormone called cortisol increases in their body, which affects their sperm.
Avoid bathing with hot water.
Often people take a bath with hot water to relax. Bathing with hot water is not good for men. To produce healthy sperm, the temperature of the testis should be less than the normal body temperature. In such a situation, if he takes a bath with hot water, then the temperature of that area can increase and the quality of sperm can deteriorate. Similarly, men who ride a bike can also increase the temperature of the testis, which can affect their fertility.
The problem even if there is varicocele
A disease called varicocele is found in men. In this condition, men start having problems with their private parts. The veins of the scrotum increase or get swollen. Due to this, the blood starts flowing back from the testis to the heart. In such a situation, if the temperature of the scrotum increases, then the quality of the sperm produced in the testis starts deteriorating. If a woman is having repeated miscarriages due to varicocele, then this disease is cured by operating the men.
Effect of old age or diabetes
Men who have diabetes and whose sugar level is always high can also have this problem. Even if there are kidney or cancer patients or sexually transmitted infections, then also the number of sperm starts decreasing and its quality starts deteriorating. High blood pressure can also be the reason for this. Apart from this, even in men who are 40 years or older, the quality of the DNA of their sperm starts getting damaged.

Get a sperm test done.
A sperm DNA fragmentation test is done to find out the quality of healthy sperm produced in men or not. If damaged DNA is detected in the sperm cell, then male infertility is detected. If there are 1 crore 50 lakh to 20 crore sperms in 1 ml of semen, then the sperm is considered healthy. If their number is less, then there may be a problem of infertility.
