Send Push

There is not much information about Yudhishthira's wife in the Mahabharata, which makes her considered mysterious. However, according to scriptures and various interpretations, Yudhishthira's wife's name was Devika, who was the daughter of King Govasana of Shivi country. Devika and Yudhishthira's son was named Yaudheya, who later became a brave warrior.

It is believed that Devika was not directly involved in the Mahabharata war and was living somewhere else with her son Yaudheya. There is no special mention of her during the exile of the Pandavas, which leads to the assumption that she was in her maternal home. Not only this, Devika is considered to be the incarnation of Mata Urmila, the wife of the god Yama Dharma Maharaj.

It is also said that the people of North India worship Draupadi and Devika, although with time people started forgetting their character.
