Viral Video Triggers Outrage, ASCW Steps In
The incident prompted a stern response from the ASCW. Labeling the act as “heinous”, the Commission registered a suo-motu case (ASCW/SM/01/2025) against Das and has directed law enforcement agencies to launch an immediate and thorough investigation.
In an official release, the Commission stated, “This is a heinous act. The safety and dignity of women must never be compromised. We expect the concerned departments to respond with urgency.”
Have a look at it here:
The ASCW has formally instructed both law enforcement and administrative departments to furnish a detailed enquiry and action-taken report within 30 days of receiving its directive. The Commission made it clear that delays or negligence in following up the case would not be tolerated.
Reiterating its commitment to women’s safety, the Commission added, “We will continue to monitor this case closely and ensure that justice is delivered. The rights and dignity of women in Assam must be upheld at all costs.”
