Mumbai: In line with the Hon'ble High Court's orders and the guidelines of the Central Pollution Control Board, a coordination meeting was held on April 25. The meeting was held at the F South Division office of the Municipal Corporation to ensure an environmentally friendly celebration of this year's Shree Ganesh Festival.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Prashant Sapkale, Deputy Commissioner (Zone Two) and Ganeshotsav Coordinator, along with Mr. Rajesh Tamhane, Deputy Commissioner (Environment).
The meeting was attended by the office bearers of various sculptors' associations from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, as well as local sculptors. Mr. Sapkale reviewed the various facilities provided to sculptors and emphasised the importance of adopting eco-friendly practices.
He appealed to all sculptors in Mumbai to actively support the cause by creating as many environmentally friendly idols as possible. The initiative aims to reduce the environmental impact while preserving the cultural essence of the festival.

Deputy Commissioners Prashant Sapkale and Rajesh Tamhane met with sculptors' associations from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Mr. Sapkale reviewed facilities for sculptors and urged them to create more eco-friendly idols for this year's celebration."
