Mumbai: The 10th Lokshahi Din was conducted on Tuesday April 15th by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) at the housing headquarters, Bandra (East). The session was held by Sanjeev Jaiswal, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of MHADA. A total of ten public grievances were reviewed, with necessary departmental instructions issued for their timely resolution.
The Lokshahi Din platform continues to serve as an important mechanism for direct grievance redressal, enabling citizens to present their matters before senior officials. Jaiswal issued clear directives to ensure just and immediate relief through the appropriate channels.
One of the cases involved Mohammad Khan, a successful applicant under the 20 percent inclusive housing scheme of the Konkan Board, for a tenement in Thane.
Khan had requested waiver of interest levied due to delays in payment by the developer. After reviewing the facts, Jaiswal instructed the concerned officials to speak with concerned developer & tell to waive the interest amount of Rs. 1.70 lakh.
In another matter, Gilbert Xavier wanted transfer of a tenement at PMGP Colony, Andheri East, which had been gifted to him by his brother. Although the required stamp duty had been paid, the transfer had not been executed. Considering the urgency, the transfer be completed without further delay, upon collection of the prescribed fee.
Mr. Farooq Shaikh had submitted a complaint regarding submission of forged documents and false affidavits in a slum rehabilitation project under Navbharat Cooperative Society, Juhu Lane, Andheri.The CEO directed the department to conduct a formal hearing within a month and to pass appropriate orders by April 30.
Four cases each from the Mumbai Board and Konkan Board were reviewed during the session, along with one case each related to the Mumbai Repairs and Reconstruction Board and the Pune Board.
