Mumbai: A tragic accident occurred around 10 PM on Sunday at a construction site adjacent to Acworth Municipal Hospital for Leprosy in Wadala, where a 30-year-old labourer fell from the third floor and died. The deceased, Naresh Kushwaha, had reportedly gone to hang clothes to dry when he lost balance and fell.
Based on the complaint, the Matunga Police have registered a case against three individuals—Heeralal Doshi, a partner at Kinjal Civilcon LLP; site manager Madhavendra Singh; and labour contractor Sultan Singh. The FIR has been filed under charges of causing death due to negligence.
According to Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Pawar of Matunga Police Station, a labour camp had been set up on the third floor of the under-construction building, where Naresh Kushwaha resided.
On the night of the incident, while hanging clothes, he accidentally lost his balance and fell from the height, leading to his death. The police have launched an investigation into the negligence that led to the fatal accident.
