Talks over possibilities

Discussions about possibilities are underway with the approaching days of Bade Sahib’s retirement. Since the day of Sahib’s posting in the state, it was clear that he would get an extension of his service. But one cannot say anything until the government issues an order. The people in the corridors are just speculating about what might happen after his retirement. In case of an extension of his service, there will be no change in the situation. In that case, a new power equation may emerge. There are three aspirants for the top job. An officer, number two in the official rank, may become the most probable aspirant for the position. The head of the state also likes the officer number two in the bureaucracy. Two more officers are contending for the position. One of them is depending on the head of the state and the head of the bureaucracy. On the other hand, another officer is using his clout in Delhi. He thinks his connections will help him reach the target.

Giving tough time

A retired IAS officer in an important position is giving a hard time to the BJP spokespersons. The Sahib is highly active on social media. He always stands by the central government, the RSS, and the BJP for anything that happens. He got respect after the new head of state took over. The retired officer has got an important position. He favours the government for the honour. The Sahib is well-informed. He argues for the government on social media. The Sahib also rails against the opponents of the central government and the BJP. But he was a different person. He has got the blessings of some RSS functionaries. The Sahib is erudite. The people in the corridors of power say his future is bright after his retirement from the post. They may see him in a higher position in the coming days.

Secretary’s posting

A secretary-rank officer has finally returned to the state from Delhi. He has got an important assignment after his comeback. There were speculations that he would get an important position after his return.  The head of the state is well-acquainted with him. This is the reason that he has got an important assignment. The head of state, as well as the head of bureaucracy, has agreed to allot him an important assignment. The officer's return has caused a major loss to another officer holding an important position. The officer, deprived of the position, is disappointed. A few things have taken place leading to the removal of the Sahib. The government wants to use the officer, who has come from Delhi, for Simhastha. This is the reason why the government has given him an important task. The posting of this officer has also satisfied the department's minister. He was against posting any officer of his department to the CM’s Secretariat. He wants to ensure that an officer pays attention to the department. The posting of this officer has delighted everyone. On the other hand, the government has set up a team for Simhastha by assigning an important job to the officer. He was earlier posted in Ujjain.

Upset with posting

A young IAS officer is disappointed with his posting. He has tried to get an important position since the head of state changed. He has been lobbying for it for 17 months. He has sought help from all powerful people in the government. The Sahib gave backhanders to an influential person for a plum posting. But the changes in the government shocked those with whom the officer was lobbying. The man who he had given the money to failed to meet the Sahib’s purpose. Nor did he return the money. The officer is embroiled in a case. His problems will continue until he is out of it. He has already lobbied to get out of the mess. But the case remains unsolved. The officer is tired of the assurances given by his old friends. He is searching for influential people who can help him meet his purpose.

Feeling humiliated

A promotee IAS officer barely imagined that he had to endure so much humiliation. He was the most important person at the time of government formation. Many officers were calling him up that day. Many of them wanted to meet him. His importance suddenly grew. The officer could not think he would lose relevance. He got a posting of his choice after the present government took over. He gave a piece of paper to the government seeking a plum posting. It issued an order accordingly. But he began to do backhand deals so much that the government removed him from there. The Sahib is in the loop line. The principal secretary (PS) of the department where the Sahib is working is sharp-witted. The PS often pulls up the promoted officer. He is keen to join the mainstream administration. The Sahib wants to apologise for what he did to head a district. But it may not be possible till the Bade Sahib is at the helm of administration.

Ego clash

A retired officer of an important organisation and a woman  IAS officer working there have locked horns. They are opposed to each other. The woman officer has gone on long leave because of the wrangle. The Sahib also says it will be difficult for him to work with the woman officer. The Sahib is close to the ruling party. He told the party office-bearers to shift her from the organisation. The issue has reached the principal secretary (PS). The retired officer told the PS, too, to transfer her. Many people are unable to get their work done in the organisation because of the dispute between the two. Many cases were pending in the organisation for a long time in the absence of an officer. The dispute has, however, complicated many cases. Those whose work is pending have clout in the party and the government. They have pleaded with the administration to settle the issues between the retired officer and the woman officer.
