In an inspiring fusion of fitness and daily life, wrestler Sangram Singh led a unique yoga session aboard a Mumbai AC local train on Thursday, as part of the ongoing Travel Yoga campaign.

Organised in collaboration with Western Railway and wellness platform Heal Station, the session took place on the train route from Andheri to Churchgate. More than 10 yoga instructors joined Singh in guiding passengers through simple yet impactful yoga routines designed to fit seamlessly into everyday schedules.

The initiative drew a warm and enthusiastic response from commuters, many of whom embraced the opportunity to learn and practice yoga on the move. Heal Station, which is running the 100-day Train Yoga campaign, described the event as a milestone in making wellness accessible in public spaces.

Sangram Singh, who has overcome immense physical challenges including battling rheumatoid arthritis in a wheelchair to eventually become a two-time Commonwealth Heavyweight Wrestling Champion and an international MMA winner, shared his personal journey with fellow passengers.

“Yoga gave me the strength to rebuild my life. I believe it has the power to transform every individual physically, mentally, and spiritually,” he said during the ride.

Reflecting on his emotional return to Mumbai’s local train network, Singh added, “Coming back to the Mumbai local after 20 years was emotional — this time, not as a passenger, but as a messenger of wellness. Yoga is not just about postures, it’s about presence — and today, we brought that presence into motion.”

He emphasized the significance of the event, saying, “Bringing yoga into public spaces like the local train is a beautiful step towards making wellness accessible for all.”
