The 26-year-old hasn't been shy to admit that he wants to move on and establish himself as a first-choice goalkeeper elsewhere though, and the writing appeared on the wall for his Anfield career when the Reds agreed a deal for Georgia stopper Giorgi Mamardashvili last summer.
Mamardashvili will link up with the new Premier League champions next season, with Kelleher joining his former Anfield team-mates Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho in west London, where Thomas Frank's side - who have sold Mark Flekken to Bayer Leverkusen - will be embarking upon their fifth campaign in the Premier League next season after an impressive 10th place finish in the 2024-25 campaign.
Brentford's director of football Phil Giles said: “I am very pleased to welcome Caoimhín to Brentford. We have scouted him in the past and were aware that he had a year to go on his contract with Liverpool this summer.
“When Mark Flekken had the opportunity to move to Bayer Leverkusen, we immediately thought about Caoimhin as his replacement. As well as being a very good goalkeeper, I’ve rarely met a player for whom everybody has such positive words to say about his personality and character. I’m therefore confident he’ll be an excellent addition to the squad.”

First-team goalkeeper coach Manu Sotelo added: “Caoimhin is a young keeper full of talent who has already proven how he can perform in the Premier league as well as Europe. He is calm and obsessed with improving. His best quality is his agility and he is a clever goalkeeper, with positioning and awareness being key elements of his game.
“With us, I’m confident he will achieve the next level in terms of performance and show the potential he has. I’m looking forward to working with him.”
And the move will be celebrated by Kelleher's former grassroots club Ringmahon Rangers in Cork, where the goalkeeper played from under-7s level up to his move to Liverpool as a 16-year-old in 2015.
Ringmahon cleverly negotiated a 20 per cent sell-on clause in Kelleher's departure to Liverpool, ensuring a record windfall for an Irish club.
The report that Ringmahon intend to use the money to upgrade facilities at the club, which caters for 42 men's, women's and youth teams across all age groups. They will also continue to receive money once Kelleher triggers certain performance milestones inserted into the deal.
