EastEnders' Joel Marshall actor isn't the only member of his family to star in the soap

Earlier this year,, alongside new partner Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) and his son Joel, played by Max Murray. Fans may be surprised to know that Max isn't the only member of his family to have starred in .

Ever since Joel and Ross were introduced, there had been mystery surrounding both characters. Fans learnt that Ross owed thousands back in , however it was soon discovered that it was Joel's debt.

Last month, it was revealed that while he was in Australia, Joel had taken a picture up one of his class mates’ skirts, and had shared the photos with his friends. Ross then ended up paying the family off.

Off screen, it looks like Max may have gotten some advice before his big debut, as his mother has also appeared on the soap. His mother is actress and singer Gina Murray, who had a short stint in EastEnders in 2014.

In the episode, Gina played a specialist called Helen, who helped in finding a wig after she lost her hair following treatment for cancer.

Gina has also made appearances in The Bill and Doctors. Most recently, she appeared in TV mini series, The Hunt For .

Back onscreen, although Joel's dad Ross is aware of his secret recording, he's managed to keep it a secret from the rest of the Square, including from his partner and Joel's step mum, Vicki.

Vicki was left fuming when she discovered what had happened in Australia - threatening to send Joel to an all boys school.

However, it's a known fact in soap land that nothing stays secret forever - and it doesn't look good for Joel when things eventually do come out. Just recently, he was chased and pinned up against a wall by Avani's dad Ravi when he found out the pair had slept together.

He was then , who warned Ravi never to touch his son again. But how will Ravi react when he finds out the whole truth?
