It could be game over for John Sugden in the coming weeks on .
A new scene involving Oliver Farnworth's character and others saw a village resident rumble the villain. More than one character confronted him over a lie about a recent murder, with John having buried the body of Anthony Fox after he was killed by his daughter Ruby Miligan.
John had claimed the body was buried in the woods in a specific spot, but viewers did not believe him. On Monday night three other characters shared their doubts over Anthony's final resting place, and soon a fourth character confronted John too.
Evidence suggested John had been lying about the location he had buried the body, leaving the Miligans wondering if he was even dead. They had received some flowers from Jai Sharma pretending to be Anthony, leaving Steph in a state.
Fearing he was still alive and was coming after them, like the flowers had warned, she raced to the woods and began trying to dig up the body. She needed proof that he was dead and was where John had said.

As she clawed away at the ground she realised John had lied about anything being buried there. She said the ground had not been disturbed at all, ever, and for something to be underneath it, it would have taken more than a shovel.
As her parents Caleb and Ruby quizzed her discovery and confronted John, he tried to claim there was nothing to share. But his partner Aaron Dingle immediately called him out and said in front of everyone that John was a liar.
John was immediately taken aback by this, as Aaron said "he could tell" that his fiancé was telling lies. John had claimed all was well and the Miligans very nearly bought it, Aaron noticed what Steph meant about the undisturbed ground.
With that he realised there had been nothing buried there, before watching John's reaction. John's face told him everything he needed to know and with that, he called him out and called him a liar.
It was clear Aaron knew when his partner was lying just by looking at his face. John was forced to confess the truth about Anthony being buried elsewhere, while he did not disclose the whereabouts.

But is this a major sign of what's ahead, and could it foreshadow John's downfall and who causes it? This small scene may be enough to suggest that Aaron will ultimately be the person that rumbles John, especially with his crimes yet to be disclosed.
He killed Nate Robinson, drugged Aaron's mother Chas Dingle, targeted her and Liam Cavanagh and framed Ella Forster for it, and he also deliberately caused Jacob Gallagher to have an allergic reaction so that he could be the hero. So what happens when one of these crimes come to light or he's questioned about them, especially Nate?
Might Aaron be able to tell from John's face that he is lying once more, and expose his true actions, and could this mean John's own partner will trigger his comeuppance when the time comes - or might it just leave him in danger?
