Kneecap's upcoming gig at the Eden Project has been cancelled after comments came to light in which one of the group called for Tory MPs to be killed. Earlier this week, the rap group apologised to the families of murdered MPs Sir David Amess and Jo Cox after footage emerged of one member appearing to say, "The only good Tory is a dead Tory. Kill your local MP."
They later condemned the resurfaced footage as part of a against them and that they also supported Hamas and Hezbollah. "They want you to believe words are more harmful than genocide. Let us be unequivocal: we do not, and have never, supported Hamas or Hezbollah. We condemn all attacks on civilians, always. It is never okay. We know this more than anyone, given our nation’s history," they wrote on .
However, the band's July concert at the Eden Project has now been cancelled, with the Cornwall-based venue sharing the news in a statement.

A spokesperson for Eden Sessions said: "Eden Sessions Limited announced today that the Kneecap show at Eden Project scheduled for July 4 2025 has been cancelled. Ticket purchasers will be contacted directly and will be fully refunded.
"The refund process will commence from Wednesday, April 30 2025. Refunds will be processed against the original payment cards used. Purchasers should allow six working days for funds to be received into their accounts."
The cancellation comes after publicly . The Prime Minister's official spokesperson said that he believed that the comments were "completely unacceptable" and "condemns them in the strongest possible terms".
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition said that Kneecap's "anti-British hatred has no place in our society" as she called for them to face action.
Just days ago, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that they as well as another in which one member of the band appeared to shout to the crowd "up Hamas, up Hezbollah".
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police told the : "We were made aware of a video on 22 April, believed to be from an event in November 2024, and it has been referred to the Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit for assessment and to determine whether any further police investigation may be required. We have also been made aware of another video believed to be from an event in November 2023."
