"Could you please move to another table? We're going to need this one." It seemed like an odd request from the manager of the Miami Beach restaurant we were eating in on Friday night, considering there were a few tables which were already clear.
But we were happy to comply - and then it became clear why our space in the corner was needed. Several man-mountain bodyguards suddenly appeared, giving away the presence of someone particularly famous, but the side effect was only ever going to be increased intrigue and it was only a matter of time until was spotted.
That she was in Miami for this race was no surprise. Since it was first run in 2022, it has become one of the most glamorous events on the sport's annual calendar with Hollywood stars, chart-topping artists and social media influencers falling over themselves to be seen there.
All that for , home of NFL franchise the . But it is the allure of Miami itself - even though the circuit is outside the city limits in Miami Gardens - that helps to make this one a little bit special.
And that is what it has become in a relatively short space of time. The racing isn't always brilliant at this circuit, but the atmosphere sure is, not to mention the setting - putting an F1 paddock inside a huge stadium is undeniably cool.

The finances are clearly right, otherwise F1 wouldn't have agreed what is by far its longest contract with any venue in the days leading up to Sunday's race, meaning Miami has a place on the calendar every year until at least 2041.
And if we see more of what we got on Sunday then most fans will probably be glad of that. This circuit hasn't been one for lots of overtaking in previous editions of the Grand Prix but the first 20 laps in particular of Sunday's race, for the third event in a row, were electric.
won at a canter in the end but both drivers' battles with in those early stages were among the best bits of action of the season so far, and got those in the grandstands roaring. And the enthusiasm of those fans - many American, of course, but also lots of Spanish-speaking Latinos, who make up more than a quarter of Florida's population - was great to see.
Naturally, there was a mix when it came to who they were cheering on. and his team are popular pretty much everywhere and there were plenty cheering on Verstappen and .
But in the grandstand lining the start-finish straight there was a clear majority of public opinion - through their famous win in Miami a year earlier, and McLaren had clearly captured the hearts of Miamians. So probably the two biggest roars of the weekend came when the Brit won the Sprint race on Saturday, and then again a day later when he finally got past Verstappen after a long and entertaining dogfight during the Grand Prix.
They kept it clean, but the same could not be said of the drivers' parade which took place two hours earlier and turned out to be the most brutal action of the weekend. The drivers were let loose in for a full lap of the circuit and, though they were limited to 20kph, that didn't stop them from racing rough.
Twenty minutes of slow-speed carnage saw several corners cut, plenty of collisions and a lot of plastic bricks being left on the track. Those who spent more than 20,000 man hours in total building those cars may not have been too happy, but everyone else at the track was - it was great fun to watch.
In the end, it was one of many reasons why the Miami Grand Prix is set to be a success for years to come - the racing, entertainment and weather are all brilliant and bonkers in equal measure. I don't know if Kylie Jenner enjoyed it, but I bet she probably did. As did I.
