Finding the ideal foundation that gives your skin a radiant and 'flawless' finish can often be a long-winded process, involving much trial and error. Particularly when it comes to finding the right shade for our unique skin tone, texture and desired coverage.
But. It shouldn't be that hard to find the perfect shade of foundation, altough in a recent survey conducted by DCYPHER Beauty,97% of its participants had foundations that don't quite match their skin tone, with most owning three to four foundations in an attempt to create the right formula.
But DCYPHER Beauty is helping to rectify this by 'rewriting the rules of beauty'. The brand has launched a 'world-first Beauty AI technology' that enables customers to 'create completely customised foundation', leaving shoppers with an ideal match to their skin tone.

While most foundations have range of 'shades' to choose from DCYPHER Beauty'sMy Custom Foundation, £39, is tailor-made to the wearer. By using the results from its AI technology, which is available on its website, the brand blends individual pigments to create the 'exact' tone.
How it works, as DCYPHER Beautyexplains, is customers need to select their 'desired coverage, finish, and skin type for a fully customised foundation formula'. Then, by using a camera - built into their phone, computer or tablet - the website can scan their face with its 'world-first AI-powered Skin Tone Analyser technology' that matches the perfect shade for their unique skin tone, reports OK!.
Boasting a lightweight, breathable and long-lasting vegan formula, the foundation is enriched with hydration heroes Hyaluronic Acid and Glycerin, which help to lock in moisture and plump. It also contains Caesalpinia Spinosa Fruit and Kappaphycus Alvarezii extracts that create a protective, lifting, and natural second-skin finish.
The foundation comes in four coverages (ultra sheer, sheer, medium and full) and three finishes (matte, natural and radiant). Priced at £39, the brand is offering our readers a 15% discount with the code OK!15.
This offer is valid until October 18, bringing the cost of the foundation down to around £33.15.
This type of foundation - a glowy, 'second-skin' - is ideal for those who prefer a natural finish that simply covers up blemishes and hyperpigmentation, delivering a smooth texture, rather than a heavier coverage. With the natural, clean-girl aesthetic being quite the trend this year, there are several other foundations on the market offering this.
For instance, Charlotte Tilbury's Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation Stick, priced at £35 - and is a fave amongst our beauty writers - promises a 'ring light effect' that 'blurs and smooths for a soft-focus skin glow'. Meanwhile, Sculpted By Aimee's best-selling Second Skin Dewy Foundation, costing £25, is a hit with shoppers who have normal and dry skin.
One chuffed customer shared their experience with the product, stating: "I absolutely love this product! The coverage is similar if not better to the coverage I get with NARS Sheer Glow. It's doesn't budge on the skin and leaves you with the most gorgeous glow, without looking oily! The fact that it's mineral-based and contains SPF is just icing on the cake! Super affordable luxury in a bottle!".
However, DCYPHER Beauty's foundation has received equally as glowing praise for its 'divine' formula, boasting a 4.8 star rating from over 500 reviews. One loyal customer penned: "This is my second bottle of foundation from DCYPHER Beauty. The shade is absolutely perfect for my skin tone and the consistency is beautiful. I have tried so many foundations on myself over the years and can never get the correct shade so this is a game changer!"
Another fan of the formula chimed in: "I was fairly sceptical when placing my order, but had long since given up ever trying to find a foundation in store that matched my skin tone and thought this was worth a try. First of all, this got delivered within 24 hours of placing the order! Secondly, it matched my face perfectly - I have since realised my undertone leans neutral/warm when I always assumed it was cool.
"Not only is the colour a perfect match, but it also sits phenomenally on the skin. I chose a sheer/radiant formulation for dry skin, and experience no separation, settling, or issues blending, another first for me! I have only had this a couple of days and already know this is the best foundation I have ever bought, I have just ordered the concealer duo."
A third shopper - who is 'obsessed' withthe foundation - remarked: "Yeah - I am obsessed with this foundation. The way this colour matches my skin perfectly. The coverage is perfect the finish is satin. My skin photographs flawlessly and have had several comments since using this.
"All the Stars," declared another customer, who continued: "This is the absolute best foundation I have ever used. I've tried to be colour matched before and everything has always been a bit off. This colour is perfect. The finish is flawless. The application is amazing and it is long lasting. This is my new holy grail foundation."
Whilst it proved long-lasting for some users, others discovered that its staying power wasn't quite as remarkable, with one buyer noting: "Very pleased with the match. My only complaint is it doesn't last all day. Seems to wear off very quickly. I didn't want to choose the full coverage as I like a natural look but this might wear longer. Can't fault the customer service, first class."
The OK!15 discount code isn't only applicable to the foundation. Shoppers can also bag products like the top-selling Complexion Starter Kit,now £58.50, which includes the brand's My Custom Foundationand My Custom Concealer, for less, as well as theCustom Drops, £35, that can transform our favourite moisturisers into a customised tinted product.
