Prince Harry is longing to bring his family back to the UK, pals say

Prince Harry has not given up hope on bringing his family to the UK, reports suggest.

The Duke of Sussex is making a solo four-day visit this week without wife Meghan and their children Archie, six, and Lilibet, four. He previously said he did not believe it was safe for them to visit after losing a battle with the Home Office over his level of security.

But the Sunday Times reports those close to Harry say he will not give up hope of bringing them here. A pal said: "He's not given up hope on bringing his family back to the UK. He wants to be able to show his children where he grew up. He wants them to know their family here. He really would like to come back to the UK much more."

This week’s trip to the UK is Harry’s longest since Queen Elizabeth’s death three years ago. Meghan has not visited the UK since September 2022 and Archie and Lili have not been here since June that year. That trip by the Sussexes coincided with Elizabeth's platinum jubilee celebrations.

This week Harry will be in London for the WellChild Awards, then head to Nottingham for an engagement focused on youth violence.

He will later attend private receptions and meetings with most of his other charities and patronages, including the Invictus Foundation, the Diana Award and Scotty's Little Soldiers.

It is still not known if he will meet his father, King Charles. They have not seen each other since February last year, when the prince flew to London after Charles's cancer diagnosis.

The King, who is at Balmoral and still receiving regular treatment, is known to miss his son.

Friends of Harry's say the ball is firmly in the royal family's court. "He's made it absolutely clear he wants a reconciliation with his family. It's on them now," one told the Sunday Times.

Wednesday is seen as the most likely day for a meeting between the pair.

Harry will be in London at the same time as the King, who will be in the capital for cancer treatment.

A source told the Mail on Sunday: “A meeting with Charles is not off the table. The only people who would know about it are Clive Alderton [the King's private secretary] and Charles and Harry.

“If anything is planned, then he is keeping this extremely close to his chest. It certainly is part of his intention to see his father. If it's on Wednesday, then he would make it work.”
