Tyson Fury hits back at Daniel Dubois critics in X-rated rant

Tyson Fury has fiercely defended Daniel Dubois against accusations he 'quit' during his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday evening.

Dubois fell short in his bid to become Britain's first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999, suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Ukrainian fighter.

Usyk dominated from the first bell, though 'Triple D' showed glimpses of promise in the early stages and found some success during the fourth round. However, his efforts proved unsuccessful against the 'Cat', who floored the Brit in the fifth round with a devastating right hand before landing a crushing left moments later, prompting the referee to wave off the contest.

Following Saturday's bout, numerous critics have branded Dubois a quitter, reports All Out Fighting. This marks not the first occasion the fighter has faced such harsh allegations, with similar claims emerging after his initial encounter with Usyk and his clash with Joe Joyce, where many believed the young Briton surrendered. Despite the backlash, Fury maintains his compatriot performed admirably and has strongly rejected suggestions that the 27-year-old threw in the towel.

Speaking in a social media video, Fury said: "Right guys, quick one. I keep getting asked about this Daniel Dubois situation and all this quitting stuff and whatever else. Here's the facts. The facts are, young Daniel D's best against one of the greatest champions that has ever been and he was not good enough... he came up short. He got put down twice. What do you want him to do? Die in the ring? There is no first place for getting battered and still losing.

"He did his best, he was not going to win the fight. He's better off getting out of there. There is a lot of jealousy in boxing. Especially when an individual is making a lot of money. A lot of jealous fighters... slagging someone off who did his best and had the guts to get in there. There is no cowards in boxing. When you are in that ring and fighting world heavyweight champions, there is no cowards. So all credit deserves to Daniel. He worked his b******* from being an eight year old to being world champion and fighting Usyk for the undisputed."

What lies ahead for Dubois is uncertain, but Fury insists he has every reason to hold his head high after performing before a packed Wembley Stadium. "Now he is sitting at home, multi millionaire at 27 and doing whatever the f*** he wants. Daniel, if you ever get to see this, chin up son. Your dad is proud, everybody is proud of you. You have come from a kid to a man to being the world heavyweight champion and boxed at Wembley in front of 100,000 people. You cannot beat that kid," he continued.

"And, if you ever want to do any training with a f****** real straight man, get yourself to Morecambe anytime you want kid because there is no jealousy here and there is no people putting this doubt in you. I call them 'dreamcrushers' and jealous b******s. Exactly, that is what you are. A load of dirty jealous w******. Get up Daniel Dubois!"

When is Tyson Fury's next fight?

Following his announcement of a comeback to the ring, British boxing star Fury has confirmed his third clash with Usyk is scheduled for 18 April 2026 at Wembley Stadium. The 36-year-old posted a fight poster showing himself and the Ukrainian on Instagram, with the caption: "April 18, 2026 Wembley Stadium. The trilogy! UK. contact @spencerbrownmrgoldstar for tickets."

Having gone 24 rounds with the Ukrainian fighter, the 'Gypsy King' continues to insist he secured victory in their December rematch. "My last fight was a clear f****** victory for The Gypsy King. Anybody in boxing can see that. A complete load of dogs***," he stated.

"I want a fair fight, I don't want any favours, I want a fair fight and a fair result. Which I know I didn't [get]. I thought I won it by five rounds. I watched it 250 times. Each way I never see it as a way for him to win. They can do what they want. If they say it's Tuesday it's Tuesday."
