Kamala Harris to Rally in Georgia with Bruce Springsteen and Barack Obama

Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is set to host a high-profile rally in Georgia on Thursday, featuring rock icon Bruce Springsteen, entertainer Tyler Perry, and former President Barack Obama. This event aims to energize voters in a critical election race against Republican contender Donald Trump.

This rally marks the first time Harris and Obama will campaign together, with another appearance planned for Saturday in Michigan, a key swing state that could influence the outcome on November 5. The Harris campaign seeks to leverage endorsements from celebrities to boost voter turnout in these final weeks leading up to the election.

Celebrity endorsements have historically added a cultural edge to political campaigns, often helping candidates raise funds, attract larger crowds, and create a buzz on social media. Both Harris and Trump are making a concerted effort to mobilize voters as Election Day approaches.

Recent polls indicate Trump holds a slight advantage in Georgia, but Harris’s campaign team remains optimistic about their chances in the state, which played a pivotal role in President Joe Biden's unexpected win in 2020. As of now, approximately 1.9 million residents in Georgia have already cast their ballots, according to state officials.

In a related appearance, Springsteen, 75, is scheduled to join Obama in Philadelphia on Monday, and the Harris campaign has hinted at more concerts featuring various artists in the coming days.

Springsteen has been a prominent figure in past Democratic campaigns, performing at a rally for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and encouraging voter registration for Obama in 2008.

Harris has also garnered support from a host of celebrities, including Taylor Swift, Pink, Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, and Lizzo. Swift’s recent endorsement on Instagram has gained over 11 million likes.

On the other hand, Trump has his own roster of celebrity supporters, including musicians Ted Nugent and Kid Rock, wrestler Hulk Hogan, and actor Dennis Quaid, among others.
