Indian superstar Prabhas has signed a lucrative three-picture deal with Hombale Films, following their successful collaboration on Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire. This new agreement includes the upcoming Salaar Part 2 and two additional films, marking one of the biggest talent-studio partnerships in Indian cinema. While the financial details of the deal were not revealed, the partnership promises to deliver high-quality cinema.
Hombale Films, renowned for its blockbuster projects like K.G.F: Chapter 1, K.G.F: Chapter 2, Kantara, and Salaar: Part 1, continues to expand its film slate. The production house is also preparing for the sequels to Kantara and K.G.F: Chapter 3, ensuring its place as a key player in the Indian film industry.
Prabhas, who became a global sensation with the Baahubali franchise, has several projects in the pipeline, including The Raja Saab, Spirit, Kalki 2, and Fauji. The actor’s wide appeal across India’s major film markets, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, has solidified his status as a pan-Indian star. His latest venture, the sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, became the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024.
Salaar Part 2, directed by Prashanth Neel (of K.G.F fame), will be the first film produced under this new deal. Hombale Films’ founder, Vijay Kiragandur, shared, “At Hombale, we believe in the power of storytelling that transcends borders. Our collaboration with Prabhas is a step towards crafting timeless cinema that will inspire and entertain for generations to come.”
Hombale Films has a significant presence in various regional markets, including the Kannada-language region with K.G.F and Kantara, Telugu with the Salaar series, Tamil with Raghu Thatha, and Malayalam with Dhoomam.
Prabhas, born Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju, began his career in Telugu cinema with Eeswar (2002) and gained recognition with films like Varsham (2004), Chatrapathi (2005), and Billa (2009). He became a household name with Rajamouli's Baahubali films, which remain among the highest-grossing Indian films. Known for his action-packed roles and strong screen presence, Prabhas continues to be one of the most influential actors in Indian cinema today.
