Viewers of have been embroiled in heated debate on social media, with some claiming the latest instalment is the "easiest episode ever" aired. The programme, fronted by comedian , featured various text and image-based questions which various fans claimed were "so hard".
On Saturday (May 3), 100 hopeful contestants from across the country piled into The 1% Club Studio in . A father and daughter duo, a woman whose job was to control pests, and another who hoped to win a stunning cash jackpot for her husband were tested on their quick thinking.
Much like the studio guests, fans also tend to play along at home, taking to social media sites like X to reveal whether or not they would hypothetically still be in with a chance at the money. However, debate has ensued, with some claiming the latest episode featured some difficult puzzles.
"I'm out on the second question it was so hard," typed one user. A second agreed: "Having a bloody nightmare here. You guys crack me up. Tough questions for a change. @1PercentClubITV for being the best social media account #The1PercentClub."
Many disagreed, with one user claiming they were doing "better than normal". Another said: "When do the hard questions begin #The1PercentClub, easiest episode ever, not even taken 5 seconds to work one out yet." Someone else questioned why some of the earlier questions seemed more difficult than others, writing: "Mum got the 70% which I didn't, yet I got the 50% question which she didn't. Make it make sense."
One of the questions featured on Saturday evening's episode read: "Which word in this question would come first in alphabetical order in a standard dictionary?" The answer was 'A', which knocked out a fair few contestants.
Another was: "Which of the following words only cotains letters which appear more than once?".
The possible answers were 'Nonsense', 'Murmur' and 'Endangered'. After giving guests just seconds to deliberate, Lee revealed the answer he was looking for was 'Murmur'.
Unfortunately, the episode failed to induct any new members into The 1% Club, with all risk-takers falling at the final hurdle.
Earlier this week, the beloved quiz programme announced that fans would soon be able to experience some brand new episodes on ITV, with the hunt beginning for new contestants.
The , which are now open until Friday, September 26.
The states that applications are open to everyone. It says: "This show is all about how people's brains work rather than what you learnt at school. Because of this, people of any age or background should have an equal chance of making it into The 1% Club."
