*Warning - This article contains spoilers for Wednesday season 2 part 1.*
Netflix viewers are convinced they've "cracked the code" regarding the true identity of the prisoner that Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) liberated from Willow Hill in the finale of season 2 part 1.
This follows rampant speculation that the captive must surely be Wednesday's long-lost Aunt Ophelia, especially after Morticia Addams' (Catherine Zeta-Jones) emotional confession about her sister earlier in the series.
However, sharp-eyed fans of Wednesday have a different theory about the woman's identity - and it ties back to Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan).
To comprehend this intriguing fan theory, we first need to acknowledge that the finale of Wednesday season 2 part 1 left many questions unanswered...
In the latter stages of season 2 part 1, we witness Hyler morph into the Hyde and slay his master Ms Thornhill/Laurel Gates (Christina Ricci), before lunging at Wednesday and halting ominously in front of her.
We then see Wednesday hurled violently from the window of Willow Hill onto the pavement below, as she narrates: "I've always dreamed of looking death in the face. But in my final moments, all I hear is my mother's words echoing in my ears. Maybe I have made everything worse... much worse."
Whilst viewers assume Tyler shoved Wednesday from the window whilst in his Hyde state, certain fans have contended there's a compelling reason why we never witnessed the incident unfold, reports the Mirror.
One viewer theorised: "Tyler did NOT push Wednesday idc to obvious! They didn't show it for a reason, watch it be revealed when they find him that it was someone else!!" (sic)
Another concurred: "I feel like Tyler pushing her is gonna be a huge red herring." (sic)
Numerous fans reckon that the freed captive who enquires of Wednesday "What kind of angel are you?" is genuinely her absent Aunt Ophelia.
Nevertheless, many of the L.O.I.S captives at Willow Hill whom Wednesday assisted in escaping had previously been declared deceased.
Another outcast dispatched to Willow Hill was none other than... Tyler's deceased mother Francoise Galpin.
Francoise's Hyde emerged when she fell pregnant with Tyler and her metamorphoses eventually resulted in her confinement at Willow Hill.
We've been informed she died at some stage thereafter, with her demise having a devastating impact on Tyler and his father Sheriff Donovan Galpin. But what if her death was faked?
On Reddit, one enthusiast speculated: "I'm guessing Tyler's mom is the woman who asked, 'What kind of angel are you' to Wednesday and she'll be able to get through to Tyler. He even tells Thornhill she's not his real mother. So Tyler might be neutralised that way."
However, it is also plausible that it was Francoise, driven mad by her years in captivity, who transformed into her Hyde self and threw Wednesday from the window in order to protect her son Tyler. What a plot twist that would be.

If Tyler hurling Wednesday from the window was actually a red herring, fans believe this could pave the way for a reconciliation between the duo and a redemption arc for Tyler.
"From best enemies to lovers ever," one penned, as another agreed: "He def still has feelings for her."
A third concurred: "My theory is tyler wasn't the one who pushed wednesday out of the window a) they didn't show it happening b) ehh I lowkey still ship them even tho I know they're doomed."
Who is the lady in the cell and did Tyler really push Wednesday out of that window? We'll have to keep watching to find out.
Wednesday season 2 part 1 is available to stream on Netflix. Part 2 is coming to Netflix on September 3.
