Novak Djokovic's most devoted supporter will be in attendance at Arthur Ashe Stadium as the Serbian tennis maestro seeks to edge closer to a historic 25th Grand Slam title at the US Open. On Friday, Djokovic will look to end a run of three successive semi-final losses this year when he faces Carlos Alcaraz, whose coach has recently disclosed his strategic approach for the eagerly-awaited US Open clash.
Excitement is mounting for this spectacular encounter, with ticket prices soaring to extraordinary heights. Amongst the thousands of spectators expected to flock to Flushing Meadows is Djokovic's wife, Jelena.
And if the global chief executive of the pair's charitable organisation - the Novak Djokovic Foundation - has her way, she'll see her husband perform his iconic victory celebration once again.
After his 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 triumph over Taylor Fritz in the US Open quarter-finals, Djokovic displayed his dancing skills whilst grooving to the track 'Soda Pop' from the film 'KPop Demon Hunters'.
The viral moment proved to be a heartfelt tribute to his daughter, who adores the movie.
"It's 20 minutes to midnight here, 2 September, it's my daughter's birthday, so this is a big present for her," Djokovic explained in his on-court interview.
"Actually, the dance in the end... she's going to rate me tomorrow how the dance was because she told me how to dance. It's KPop Demon Hunters. 'Soda Pop' is the name of the song.
"Obviously, it's a big thing globally for teenagers and kids, but I didn't know about it before my daughter told me about it a few months ago.
"We were at home doing different choreographies, and this is one of them, so hopefully I'll make her smile when she wakes up tomorrow morning."
Jelena swiftly shared her delight at Djokovic's dancing skills, posting a clip of the moment with the caption: "Awwwww My little soda pop! ! !" She also added in Croatian: "Let's go hahaha."
Djokovic and Jelena first met as teenagers whilst attending the same secondary school in Serbia. The couple tied the knot in July 2014 and share two children, Stefan and Tara.
During his appearance on the 'Jay Shetty Podcast,' Djokovic revealed how Jelena inspires him to achieve his greatest potential.
"We've gone through difference phases and stages. Basically, she's the only very serious relationship that I've ever had. She's my rock," he said.
"She's someone that has seen the worst and the best sides of me. She has seen my evolution. She has challenged me on every level. We have grown together, and we have two beautiful children, and we still keep on growing and evolving.
"We have challenges as every couple, but we have an amazing base and foundation. When we have challenging times in the relationship, we revert to that... the future that we see is the future that we see together. She's probably the only one in my life, other than my brothers or my one or two friends, that is able to tell me the things that I maybe don't want to hear. Challenge my ideas, thoughts, and decisions.
"She has been an incredible partner in this whole journey, professionally, privately, emotionally, romantically, as a parent as well," Djokovic added. "So I still play at this level because also of the support that she's giving to our family back home. And I remind myself of that a lot."
