Piccadilly Gardens stabbing LIVE: Huge brawl erupts with man rushed to hospital

A huge corden was in place in Manchester city centre this morning with police taping off Piccadilly Gardens. Two police tents have been erected near Market Street, and a man has been rushed to hospital.

Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called to reports of a fight in Piccadilly Gardens at around 9pm last night. A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Two men were arrested - a 19-year-old on suspicion of assault and a 23-year-old on suspicion of affray. They are both in custody. A scene is still in place this morning whilst officers conduct their enquiries."
