Strictly Come Dancing fans have admitted they will boycott the show if one particular presenter replaces Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. The beloved BBC duo announced they will be stepping down from the programme at the end of the current series, making their final appearance on Christmas Day during the festive special. Tess, 56, has been a staple of Strictly since its launch in 2004, initially co-hosting alongside the late Bruce Forsyth. Claudia, 53, presented It Takes Two from 2010 to 2014 before joining Tess as co-host of the results show.
Since Bruce's departure in 2014, Claudia has shared main-show duties with Tess, forming one of the BBC's most popular presenting partnerships. Several frontrunners are tipped to replace the duo, including Rylan Clark, Zoe Ball, Holly Willoughby, Alan Carr and more. But its Alison Hammond who has got fans talking, with many voicing that they would stop watching the show altogether if she were hired.
One demanded: "We can't let the likes of Alan Carr present #StrictlyComeDancing The likes of Alan Carr and Amanda Holden are divisive, talentless and self-centred nobodies Same with Alison Hammond - too loud, self centred and a big turn off for Bake Off fans."
Another agreed: "I hope to fk Alison Hammond will NOT be one of the new presenters on Strictly."
A third posted: "Ladbrokes is also offering odds on Holly Willoughby as a surprise frontrunner, with another ITV star, Alison Hammond also on their list. NO NO NO. Alison is too wild."
Someone else fumed: "If Rylan Clark or Alison Hammond Roman Kemp?? Take over strictly, i'll never watch it again!! Surely Emma Willis & Janette Manrara are much better choices."
"Oh please NO! Or Alison Hammond - I will not be able to watch Strictly anymore if either of these 2 are on it," echoed a fifth.
An additional fan said: "Love Strictly but if Alison Hammond got the job, I'd never watch it again. Have enough problem with her squawking on Bake Off, she makes my ears bleed!"
Others didn't share the same view as one wrote: "Alison Hammond would be a hilarious strictly host."
"I know alison hammond's locked down by itv but i think she would be great at hosting strictly," added a second as another remarked: "We need to have Alison Hammond and Josie Gibson presenting Strictly."
Tess and Claudia announced their exit in a joint statement, saying they were "always going to leave together and now feels like the right time".
