In a heart-wrenching scene from a repeated episode of Our Yorkshire Farm from season five, Amanda Owen was seen tearing up as she delivered some devastating news to her children about the loss of their beloved family pony, Little Joe.
The poignant moment unfolded in the barn where Amanda, overcome with emotion, told the kids that Little Joe had suffered a heart attack overnight and passed away.
Originally aired in 2021, the episode showed an emotional Amanda asking her daughter Nancy, "So what do you think, Nancy?" to which Nancy replied, "He was quite good," leading Amanda to acknowledge through tears, "He was good, wasn't he?"
As Nancy turned her attention to another equine friend, questioning, "He loved everything that we did for him, is that horse going to die?" Amanda reassured her, "No, Tony is just young."
Confused and curious, Nancy further asked, "What happened? Did he get old to die?" prompting her mother to explain gently, "He did, he didn't suffer, he just dropped. He just had a heart attack," reports .
Trying to comfort her children, Amanda said, "I don't think there could be a better-looked-after pony."
Turning her gaze into the camera, Amanda shared with the viewers, "We're going to miss him."
The episode later depicted a touching moment when Raven, Amanda, and Clive Owen's eldest daughter returned from university and joined Reuben and the rest of the family to extend their tribute to Little Joe.
Reuben reminisced, "Me and you used to spend loads of time riding that horse," while Raven humorously recounted how Little Joe had been part of a childhood memory: "He was responsible for me losing my first two teeth.
"I used to make him gallop in the bottom field with my hands in the air at the same time. It was my party trick until I fell off a few times."

Amanda later remarked: "Raven is really upset about losing Little Joe. He has been a continual presence in her life."
Reuben, Raven, and Miles then created a memorial for Little Joe from a tree stump. "It's going to go up where Joe is buried," said Raven.
As they came together by Little Joe's grave, Amanda attempted to convey to her kids the inevitability of death for all beings, like their other pony, Tony.
She explained: "Having pets is part of it; the minute you take on responsibility for a pet, even like Tony, it is for life, isn't it?
"At some point, life will come to an end, won't it? Anything can die, life is a fragile thing."
