The Chase fans threatened to switch over to a rival show just minutes into the quiz show after one player made a grave error. During Thursday's visit (July 3) to the ITV studios, Bradley Walsh, 65, returned to the helm as he welcomed four new hopefuls onto the teatime show.
He introduced Sarah, Jack, Ellie, and Mo to viewers at home where they put their general knowledge to the test. The quartet went up against Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis who certainly brought his A-game to the table. First up to the podium was Sarah who showed off her impressive general knowledge when she raked in £5,000 in her cash-builder round.

But when it came down to her head-to-head round with the pro quizzer, 44, the player buckled under the pressure and instead opted to play for the low offer of £2,000.
It didn't take long before fans flooded to X - formerly known as Twitter - to share their disappointment online. One user penned: "Here we go first player goes low, disgraceful. Big difference between what she earned and the £2,000 #thechase."
Another fumed: "Off to a flying start, taking the £2k #thechase" as a third agreed: "Low offer already for seat 1... #thechase." A fourth warned: "If the second player goes low, I'm turning over to #pointless #thechase."
Despite taking the low offer, Sarah managed to secure her place in the final chase and set the team off on a winning streak. Next to take on the Chaser was Jack who also raked in £5,000 in the cash-builder, but unlike his teammate, he played for his winnings and soared through to the final chase.
The winning streak only got stronger when Ellie took on the Irish quizzer, also adding an impressive £5,000 to the jackpot similarly to final contestant Mo.
With a grand total of £17,000, the team correctly answered 22 questions in two minutes, making it a tough score for the player to beat in the nail-biting time limit. When Darragh took on the challenge, he only managed to correctly answer 21 questions right, meaning each player got to leave the show with £4,250 each.
The Chase airs on weekdays from 5pm on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
