Amazon Prime Day is a great time to pick up a good deal on the latest technology, but just because a product has been discounted, doesn't mean it's worth investing in. At Express.co.uk, we've been going through the gadgets on offer this week to see which are truly worth considering, and one in particular stands out.
Right now, you can get Apple's newest 11-inch iPad for £285, a sizable discount on the tablet's £329 RRP. It's rare for iPads to see price cuts of any kind, so this stands out, especially as this is Apple's latest iPad, launched in March this year.
Just remember you need to be an Amazon Prime subscriber to get this Prime Day deal price. You might be eligible for a 30-day free Prime trial.
This deal is also only running until Friday, July 11, or while stocks last.
£285 is an excellent price for this iPad, which comes with 128GB storage. It has two 12MP cameras on the front and back for photos and video calls, plus Touch ID in the power button to safely unlock the tablet and also make secure online payments using Apple Pay.
The model on sale is a Wi-Fi only model and is currently available in silver, pink, blue and yellow. Inside is Apple's A16 chipset, the most powerful processor the company has yet used in its entry-level iPad.
The tablet also has a USB-C port, which you might not be used to. Apple has fully retired its Lightning connector now, so all iPads it sells now come with a USB-C cable in the box.
While the more powerful (and pricier) iPad Air and iPad Pro models are also available, this 11-inch base model iPad is more than enough tablet for the majority of buyers. It's a decent size, bright screen for streaming video from Netflix, Disney+, YouTube and any streaming app available from the App Store, plus it has Apple's clever True Tone tech that changes the display colours depending on the ambient lighting in the room.
Though it doesn't come with one in the box, this iPad is also compatible with the Apple Pencil (USB-C version of the 1st generation model), which can be used to draw in art apps, make notes or even to tap around iPadOS instead of your finger.
You can also opt for Apple's Magic Keyboard Folio or any number of third party keyboard options, which turns the iPad into a laptop, perfect for standing it up to watch shows or to bash out your daily dose of emails.
