Tallahassee: Amendments 3 and 4 failed in Florida as Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump registered victory in the US state. Notably, these amendments needed at least 60 per cent public approval to pass. The development was confirmed by Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis in his X post. "With polls now closed in Florida — Amendment 3 has failed. Amendment 4 has failed," DeSantis tweeted.Tweet By Ron DeSantis:
Amendment 3 would have allowed recreational use of marijuana by adults of 21 years or older. It would have allowed adults to possess, purchase or use marijuana up to three ounces. For the unversed, the amendment was reportedly approved by the Florida Supreme Court on April 1 this year. It acquired over 1 million voter signatures. As per the law in Florida, marijuana is allowed only for medical purposes.Meanwhile, Amendment 4 aimed to enshrine abortion rights in the constitution of Florida. With polls now closed in Florida —
