Donald Trump Cancels NRA Convention, Social Media Reacts: 'Unstable And Unfit'

Send Push

After Donald Trump unexpectedly cancelled his participation at an NRA gathering in Savannah, Georgia, the public has began to worry about the mental health of the former president. Trump was scheduled to speak at the October 22 "Defend the 2nd" event. As reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Trump team withdrew from the event due to a schedule difficulty. Afterwards, the pro-gun organization canceled the entire thing.

Following a Tuesday presentation at the Economic Club of Chicago, when interviewer John Micklethwait repeatedly questioned Trump on his meandering non-answers and topic switches, the cancelation occurred. The day before that visit, Trump also bewildered a Pennsylvania town hall crowd by stopping questioning for more than thirty minutes in order to sway to his playlist while on stage. Trump has canceled a number of scheduled interviews in recent days. Social media users have not reacted amicably to Trump's withdrawal from multiple events in the space of a few weeks. @Dexter_Wright on X (formerly called Twitter) attempted to clarify why Trump has been avoiding events recently. He said Trump did not want to debate Harris again because, "he has PTSD from the first debate!"

Another user from @BuddyfromMJ wrote, "He isnโ€™t a leader. He is a coward."

@Coolie2024 made a suggestive anti-Trump poster and posted it as his opinion on Trump skipping events recently.

@MartBartruff was of the opinion that Trump probably has dementia, or that he skipping could also possibly be a strategic move. He wrote, "It could be because of his dementia..."

Trump allegedly "suddenly scrapped" an interview with NBC News senior business journalist Christine Romans that was scheduled for Monday morning in Philadelphia, according to CNN's Brian Stelter. He had already canceled a scheduled visit to CNBC's "Squawk Box," claiming yet another alleged scheduling difficulty. The cancellations come after Trump abruptly withdrew from an interview with "60 Minutes" two weeks prior. That action came after another appearance in which Trump appeared a little disoriented.
