Berhampur: Kumar Purnima celebrated on Wednesday highlighted cultural diversity through an array of dance performances. Assembly speaker Surama Padhy inaugurated the cultural programme organised by Madhumaya Panigrahi Foundation, a Berhampur-based organization. Ashok Kumar Ganguli, director, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Berhampur and Twishampati Jena, founder member of OCA, South Africa, graced the occasion as guests. A standout moment was the revival of “Kumara Punei Janha Lo,” a traditional Odia folk dance that has almost disappeared from the rural areas. TNN
