Man arrested for raping his 12-year-old daughter

Rajkot: A 35-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his 12-year-old daughter in a village of Junagadh district's Bhesan taluka.

The crime came to light after the girl's mother recently lodged a complaint naming her husband.

Police said the accused raped his daughter for over a month and a half before March 24. Her parents divorced six months ago, and the girl and her younger brother were living with their father.

As the abuse continued, the young girl decided to escape and fled to her mother's house in Dungarpur village, taking her brother along. She revealed the ordeal to her mother, who approached the police immediately.

On Monday, the accused was presented in court, which sent him to judicial custody.
