Advance booking for Sunny Deol's Jaat to open on Tuesday

The excitement around Jaat, Sunny Deol’s much-anticipated return to the big screen after the historic success of Gadar 2, is reaching a fever pitch. Sources close to ETimes have shared that the advance booking for the film will open this Tuesday — two days prior to its theatrical release.

Slated to hit cinemas this Friday, Jaat marks Sunny Deol’s first outing since Gadar 2 stormed the box office in 2023 with a record-shattering performance. This time, Deol returns in an intense action-packed avatar, and fans are eager to see him in a fresh, gritty setting. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film also stars Randeep Hooda and Viineet Kumar Singh in pivotal roles, promising a powerful ensemble that blends mass appeal with strong performances.


The decision to start advance bookings two days before release signals the makers’ confidence in the film’s buzz. Given Deol’s massive fanbase and the lingering impact of Gadar 2, trade analysts are expecting a strong opening, especially in North India where the actor enjoys cult-like popularity.


The film’s trailer, which dropped last week, has already sparked anticipation with its high-octane action, dramatic dialogues, and a raw, rural backdrop. Randeep Hooda’s intense screen presence and Viineet Kumar Singh’s versatility are also expected to add layers to the narrative, making Jaat more than just a one-man show.The makers will be releasing the title track today in Delhi.

In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Sunny Deol opened up about doig his own stunts even at the age of 67, he said “I haven’t really thought about how old I am. I’m basically a sports guy. I’ve always been into sports, weight training came later. I take life like sports — that’s just the way I am.”

Post this Sunny Deol has a string of releases lined up from Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lahore 1947 to Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan where he would be playing the role of Hanuman to Ranbir Kapoor's Ram. He will also be reprising the role of Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri in Border 2 which is being directed by Anurag Singh.
