Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently expressed her deep gratitude for the overwhelming support she received from many South Indian stars, including Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, SS Rajamouli, Nani, Mahesh Babu, and Vijay Deverakonda, amidst Telangana Minister Konda Surekha’s viral statement about her divorce from Naga Chaitanya that took the headlines.
As the actress is busy promoting her upcoming action series, 'Citadel: Honey Bunny', alongside Varun Dhawan, she was asked about the incident and shared her appreciation for the film industry's solidarity during her challenging times. In an interview with Galatta India, Samantha stated, “Of course, I must appreciate it. The reason I’m here today is that this group of people didn’t give up on me. Their love and faith in me helped me rise again.”

Samantha emphasized that this backing was crucial in helping her face her difficulties. She noted, “It would have taken me much longer to overcome my situation without their support. I might have felt like giving up. It’s because of the faith of those around me that I am here today.”
Recently, Surekha sparked controversy by claiming that her political opponent, KT Rama Rao, is the reason behind Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce in 2021. She alleged that KTR pressured Samantha to attend a meeting in exchange for not demolishing a convention center. According to Surekha, when she refused, it contributed to their separation. She also made serious accusations about KTR’s past behavior, claiming he had a history of blackmailing actresses.
Soon, Naga Chaitanya’s father, actor Nagarjuna, filed a defamation suit against Surekha for attacking his family.
Samantha also shared how she deals with online trolling, saying, “When I receive hate messages, I try not to see that negativity as a reflection of myself. Instead, I think about what the person sending it might be experiencing.”
'Citadel: Honey Bunny', written by Sita R. Menon and Raj & DK, and directed by Raj & DK, will have its OTT debut on November 7.
