7 Powerful Lord Rama Mantras

For Hindus, Ram Navami is a very important religious festival that celebrates the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Ram , the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The day is celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal across the country. This day is considered as one of the most sacred day to worship Lord Shri Ram, or Maryada Purushottam Ram. The day is celebrated on the last day of Chaitra Navratri which is Navami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra. This year, Navami Tithi or ninth day of Shukla Paksha is being observed today i.e., on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

This day holds great religious and spiritual importance in Hindu religion and a large number of people honor Shri Ram by performing various puja rituals and spiritual activities on this day and mantra chanting is one of those activities which people use to appease Shri Ram and gain the maximum benefits of this auspicious festival. Today, we are going to share few mantras which you all can chant today and seek blessings of Lord Rama.

Lord Rama Mantras you can chant on Ram Navami:

1. Rama Moola Mantra (Beej Mantra)

ॐ श्री रामाय नमः..!!
Om Shri Ramaya Namah..!!

Meaning: Since Lord Rama is the personification of righteousness, truth, and dharma, I bow before him.

2. Rama Taraka Mantra (The Deliverer)

श्री राम जय राम जय जय राम..!!
Shri Ram Jaya Ram Jaya Jaya Ram..!!

Meaning: Glory to the everlasting savior, Lord Rama.

3. Rama Gayatri Mantra

ॐ दशरथाय विद्महे सीतावल्लभाय धीमहि तन्नो रामः प्रचोदयात्..!!
Om Dasharathaya Vidmahe Sitavallabhaya Dhimahi Tanno Ramah Prachodayat..!!

Meaning: Please let us know Dasharatha's son. Let's think about Sita's consort. May Lord Rama enlighten and inspire our minds.

4. Rama Ashtakshara Mantra

ॐ रामाय रामभद्राय रामचंद्राय वेधसे रघुनाथाय नाथाय सीतायाः पतये नमः..!!
Om Ramaya Ramabhadraya Ramachandraya Vedhase Raghunathaya Nathaya Sitayah Pataye Namah..!!

Meaning: Greetings to the lord of the Raghu family and Sita's consort, Lord Rama, Ramabhadra, and Ramachandra.

5. Sita Ram Mantra


सीता राम सीता राम जय जय सीता राम..!!
Sita Ram Sita Ram Jaya Jaya Sita Ram..!!

Meaning: Praise to Sita and Rama, the divine couple.

6. Rama Raksha Stotra (Opening Verse)

श्रीराम राम रघुनन्दन राम राम श्रीराम राम भरताग्रज राम राम श्रीराम राम रणकर्कश राम राम श्रीराम राम शरणं भव राम राम..!!
Shri Rama Rama Raghunandana Rama Rama... Sharanam Bhava Rama Rama..!!

Meaning: A chant for protection that invokes the qualities of Lord Rama.

7. Hanuman’s Ram Naam Japa

राम राम रामेति रमे रामे मनोरमे सहस्रनाम तत्तुल्यं राम नाम वरानने..!!
Rama Rama Rameti Rame Rame Manorame,
Sahasranama Tattulyam Rama Nama Varanane..!!

Meaning: Chanting the thousand names of God (Vishnu Sahasranama) is not as effective as repeating "Rama."


Important Tips: How to chant these Mantras:

  • Get up early, take a shower, and dress in clean clothes—preferably white or yellow.
  • Place an idol or portrait of Lord Rama with Hanuman, Lakshmana, and Sita.
  • Light a lamp, present flowers and tulsi leaves, and chant fervently.
  • If you can, try to complete 108 repetitions with a mala.
