Karwa Chauth is being celebrated today, October 20, 2024, Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in Kartik Maas. Women whole heartedly celebrate this amazing festival when they observe strict nirjala fast for the well being and longevity of their beloved husband or partner. Unmarried women also observe this fast to get the desired husband and seek blessings of Chauth Mata and Gauri Mata.

Karwa Chauth 2024 : Puja Samagri


Karwa or clay pot


A decorated earthen or brass pot which is an important thing which is used during the ritual. You can fill it with water, and the water is offered to Moon God once you break the fast.

Sargi


Sargi is a traditional mean which is prepared by the mother in law and this Sargi includes fruits, sweets, parantha, dry fruits, juices etc.

Durva

As Sankashti also falls on the same day so people must take Durva Grass which is also used during the puja ritual and is very essential puja sagari.

Desi Ghee

You will require desi ghee to light a diya and offer it to the Goddess Gauri and Chauth Mata.

Puja Thali

You must require a decorated plate in which you can keep all the necessary samagri.

Roli or Sindoor

You need that sindoor which you should offer to Mata and other auspicious samagri used during the puja such as Karwa, and thali.

Wheat grains


You need wheat grains which is must for performing the puja along with durva grass

Earthen Lamp or Diya


Women must need a clay diya, as this is considered auspicious to light an earthen lamp.

Incense Sticks

Insene stick are also used during the puja rituals which is offered to the deities.

Flowers and garland


This is one of the important samagri which you need to offer to Goddess and Lord Ganesha also.

Fruits

You must offer 5 seasonal fruits to the Goddess.

Karwa Chauth Calendar

Karwa Chauth Calendar is must and you can stick it on a wall before performing the puja.

Sieve or Chalni

Sieve or chalni is also important for moon sighting.

Bhog Prasad

You must prepare bhog prasad for the Goddess and that should be homemade semolina halwa and kheer.

Saree or clothes

You must offer clothes to the Goddess and these clothes you can gift to your mother in law next day or after puja.
